About TizzKids

In 2017, I trained to teach mindfulness to children, inspired by both my own experiences with anxiety as a child and as a parent. I know firsthand how powerful mindfulness can be in helping kids build resilience, manage big emotions, cultivate kindness and compassion, improve sleep, and navigate life’s challenges with more ease. Over the years, I’ve worked with children in schools, on courses, workshops, and private sessions, witnessing the profound impact that mindful awareness can have on their daily lives—including my own child’s. I’m passionate about equipping kids with these tools, empowering them to feel more grounded, confident, and connected.

This Pillar focuses on the ways that exercise can promote mental wellbeing.  There are loads of opportunities for kids to get more exercise and even better if you can get out and do it as a family.  Here you will find articles about different types of exercise and how it will benefit your children's mental wellbeing.  

The focus will be on both blood-pumping, endorphin boosting exercise and more calming exercises such as yoga.

This Pillar will focus on home life and how to cultivate a peaceful and loving environment with the importance of the child feeling loved, trusted, understood, valued and safe.  Family relationships and home life are key to developing mental wellbeing and the success from the other pillars will stem from this pillar in particular.

This pillar will focus on how to cultivate a sense of belonging in family, school and community. School and social environments an be the source of anxiety for many 

children, so here you will find plenty of advice and support on how to deal with this.

Sleep

This pillar will focus on sleep.  Sleep is a really common area that children struggle with for all sorts of reasons.  Anxiety is a big factor in a child struggling to get to sleep but a lack of sleep can also cause anxiety, poor concentration and other problems that affect mental wellbeing.  It is important to know how much sleep your child actually needs and look at bedtime routines in order to establish the best outcome for your child.  Therefore this pillar will look at the many benefits of sleep, how sleep helps mental wellbeing and ways to work with with sleep problems.
